News from Maddy - month two

Maddy is two months old today! We can't believe that she is that old already. She's doing great and each day with her is a joy. In the last week or so she has definitely been reaching some new milestones in her development. She is a "frequent smiler" now and is especially happy in the mornings. In general, she has many more facial expressions and is clearly interacting with the world around her more than before. She follows faces, lights, and mirrors very intently with her eyes and notices brightly colored objects more. She has also started to be able to get her hands up to her mouth and suck on them. Her hair seems to be holding its curl more recently. After washing it, it has always curled up, but it always went down to a more wavy look after a day or two. After the most recent wash, it has relaxed a bit but stayed much curlier. Who knows where it will end up as she grows? For now we are just trusting Nature and letting it stay as is wants, of course. As it grows out we will eventually have to make some hair care and styling decisions (in consultation with our "hair team"), but for now we are just letting it be the beautiful hair it wants to be. All hair advice is welcome! We are taking her to the pediatrician for her next regular appointment tomorrow and we'll let you know how that goes. She certainly seems very healthy to us - her pees and poops are very regular and she is an enthusiastic eater. She is quite active and can really move and squirm when she has a mind to. She is doing great and we love her more and more each day!
